Location: East of Vancouver and Burnaby on the same side of the Fraser River, i.e. the north side.

Travel Time: Approximately one-half hour by car via the Lougheed Highway.

Climate: Same as Vancouver. Economy: Coquitlam District Municipality and the City of Port Coquitlam within it have traditionally been a residential bedroom-community for Vancouver. Manufacturing activity has increased in recent years as land in Vancouver becomes more expensive.
